Why the pause, you ask?
So with every re invent and through the three years of our companies blog we've faced one huge dilema. What makes us different? So far it's stumped us and somewhat dampened our spirits as we see dime a dozen recipes, flowers and such race through the cyber world countlessly. We never set out to be a look at what we found kind of experience, nor did we want to post things so another would think our lives we about posting what we were doing. We want to inspire people to be apart of the beautiful. We want you all to flip through the pages, read the posts and become appreciators of food, flowers and the power inspiration has to influence your every day lives without having to donn a new persona in order to be apart of the current trend. Is this possible? We think so and after all of our trials we think the solution is to test, indulge and become officionados of every day bliss. It's about the farmer's market run to find not all the amazing vegetables but just a tomato and learn everything you can about that tomato. Or pick one color and explore it thoroughly through flowers hence learning about textures. And lastly for style pick an amazing resource such as tree rubber and see what it can make in a rug or a vase. That's where we thrive and we hope you will join us in the biggest test of the things around us that are always there we just need a moment of each day to see them. You don't have to ever do what we write but at least learn to appreciate those who've skillfully learned their craft, and have fun with both the successes and failures of our laboratory.
For now, adieu…
Like a long winter before a triumphant spring, we are are off to hibernate from our official endeavors with F+F+S to turn our full attention to our own creative fancies, so that, at our journey's end, we may come back brighter, bolder, and more wildly imaginative than ever before. We hope to see you then!

And the winner is...
The votes are in and, although we didn't win, we filled our bike with lots of great press and a great time. Thank you again for the love. Good things are still to come, so stay posted as we busily work. Even if we didn't win, we highly suggest to anyone entering something just to get all of the wonderful notes of encouragement. Much love to all. --Anna

Sending you our warmest appreciation
A huge thank you to everyone for voting. We'll let you know the results. Bottomline though is we're overwhelmed with happiness because so many of you jumped on board and liked the idea. Having never ventured to enter a contest like this before, we were amazed at the friends, family, and complete strangers, or should we say new friends, that were there for us. We hope everyone has a chance to follow their dreams, thanks for being a part of ours. --Anna
p.s. A special thank you to Gabby at Design Mom for putting us up on her site. Almost a decade ago she helped me with my first flower shop, and I still remember the wonderful brainstorming sessions, great buys for the grand opening, and all of the graphic design work she did to help out.
Our hearts and mailboxes are happy

Having both been in the magazine industry, we've been particularly disheartened as we've watched many of the really good mags fold over the past couple of years. We're thrilled with a new find in Stella. Go have a look at their premier issue and order one quickly—ours is on it's way! Finally we again have a bit of visual candy to hold and read over and over. --Anna

Did you hear?

We've got a brick-and-mortar location in which to hang our hat (or park our Petals by Bike if you want to get literal about it) this fall. It will be in one of our favorite places in San Francisco. A Vote Can Mean So Much

Anna and I are thrilled that Food+Flower+Style, specifically our Petals by Bike program has been selected as one of four finalstists in Daily Candy's Start Small, Go Big Contest, celebrating their 10th Anniversary. And now it is time to vote.
Along with a write up in Daily Candy, the winner of our category (FUN!) will also receive attendance at the Daily Candy academy and a cash prize to go toward their business. And voters may win prizes, too! (The more you vote, the higher your chance of winning.)
We are calling all readers, fans, supporters, and anyone who has visited our site to help us GO BIG! You can vote for us every day throughout the month of September (and we need all the votes we can get).
Click through to vote for F+F+S! And share us with your friends! --Liesel & Anna

Nathalie Lété
Back in the day, the brilliancy of Anthropologie was individualized, handcrafted store windows. And although as they've expanded to a large company with stores everywhere while successfully keeping much of their artistic sensibility, somehow many windows just aren't the same as one unique creation. This past June, they brought the beauty back with wonderfully hand-painted windows in New York City. I worked at the Fifth Avenue, SoHo locations in New York, and then at the San Francisco store, and while there I fell in love with many artists just off of looking at the visual packets they gave to us filled with inspiration. Nathalie Lété is one such artist, and here is a piece she was filmed doing in Tokyo, as well as a window she did for Anthro. Enjoy! --Anna
