Why the pause, you ask?

So with every reinvention and through the three years of sharing on our site, we've repetitively found ourselves pondering one question: What makes us different? And in questioning this over and over, at least we know what we do want to be. We never set out to be a voyeuristic look at what we've found or what we're doing kind of experience. We want to inspire people to be apart of the beautiful—wherever they may find it and whatever it may look like to them. We would hope to inspire you to become appreciators of all the sensory beauty held by food and flowers and awed by the power inspiration has to influence your everyday lives without giving up the integrity of your own predilections and tastes. Is this possible? We think so. Our mandate to you is to use a watchful eye to become aficionados of and indulge in the wonder of the ordinary moments. For us, it's about the farmers' market run where we find a new tomato varietal and then learn everything we can about it. It's about picking one color and exploring it thoroughly through flowers, hence exploring and playing not only with color, but also with texture. And for style, it's about picking an amazing resource, such as tree rubber, and seeing how we can use it in making or constructing a vase or a rug. These activities are where we thrive and that make our daily experiences meaningful. There are items all around each of us that simply need to be investigated, explored, and remembered to open a world of creativity. These processes are why we think of the places where we pursue our crafts as laboratories—the spaces where we test, try, ponder, tinker, and create.
